Hop & Brew School

Join Yakima Chief Hops for the third annual Great Taste of the Midwest Satellite Hop & Brew School event. We are excited to cover topics including:
*Outlook Hazy or Bright – Let Your Yeast Decide”, presented by Omega Yeast. This session will cover Omega’s recent investigations into yeast-dependent haze have uncovered that specific brewing yeast strains promote haze formation in heavily dry-hopped beer styles.

*Malting 102, presented by Briess Malting. This session will dive deeply into flavor formation created through kilning and roasting. This session will include malt sensory evaluation techniques, including the Hot Steep Method.

*COA Sensory Training, presented by Yakima Chief Hops. This interactive sensory training focuses on a single lot of hops – starting with analytical explanations on a COA, sharing sensory standards for oil compounds, and concluding with a beer tasting from the same lot of hops.
